Hey everyone,
I was having some troubles using the aamc website. I am currently registered for the Jan 8th mcat. I wanted to know if seats have opened up for the 23rd. Is there anyway I can do that without canceling my current mcat registration?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can check seat availability without canceling your current seat. Just click the "reschedule" button and browse the seats.

That said, January 23rd is extremely overbooked. Most of the time, absolutely nothing is available on January 23rd. Some of the time, there are seats in Guam.

January 13th and 15th have decent availability, usually 20 states at any given time, and the 20 states vary over time.

Hey,
thanks for your response. So the reschedule button doesnt even show up since its so close to the exam date. I was hoping there was another way to check seat availability

Damn you're right. There goes my back-up plan of grabbing a jan 23rd seat after the latest score results.

You have a January 8th seat? The reschedule button should be visible until January 2nd at 11:59 PM Eastern Time, according to the AAMC. Just google "MCAT bronze" and look at the "bronze zone deadline". When I took the December 6th MCAT, the reschedule button was visible until the announced time about one week before test date.

The button says "How to reschedule" - click that. Then it says "Change my reservation" - click that, it will not actually change it yet. In fact, you have to click confirm about a thousand times before it cancels your registration. You will not accidentally cancel your registration while looking for availability.

All that said, January 23rd seats are extremely tight. January 13th and 15th are realistic goals. If you want January 23rd, better buy a plane ticket to Guam.

I just checked - January 23rd has seats in Guam and Idaho, and that's it.

January 13th has seats in like 35 states, it is actually getting more open.
