Research Question

So I've been told that having research and publications can help make you more competitive to match for residencies. Obviously I'd like to try to get some if I can manage it with my school work..
But I was wondering if research and publications from UG counted towards this?

Yes they do, but if your most recent research experience was 4+ years ago, it won't look great.
