Hi. I served for 5 years in the Navy on active duty as a pathologist. I have been out for 4 years and am considering joining the reserves.
Anyone have information about who to contact, what kinds of programs are available (REFLEX) etc, the advantages of one service over another- I am considering Navy and Army. Navy- because I am prior Navy and have family close to bases where I could potentially do my AT, Army because I live near a large Army hospital so I could just stay at home while I drilled...I suppose Air Force is also a possibility, as I have family near the AF Academy.
Are there Specialty leaders in the reserves like there are on active duty? Does the same person serve as specialty leader for both active and reserve components? Does the army even have specialty leaders?
It is difficult to find specific info on pathology, since we as pathologists are such a rare breed 🙂
Thanks in advance for any info.
