Not considering joining for the money in any way, just curious how much you realistically get paid per year while serving in the reserves/guard. No big bonus for joining right now. There are a lot of little payments (board certification, specialty, drill, etc.) and just curious how much it all ends up being.

Thanks

It's actually negative money. You'll lose money joining as a physician.

When I joined, I switched from BC/BS to Tricare.
$1500 per month with a 7500 deductible became 220 a month with a 150 deductible.

Off the top of my head, drill pay for a doc off the street with no prior military experience is gonna be about $750 per month, board certified pay about $20 a month and specialty pay is 4/356th of the active duty specialty pay.
