Maybe this is a bit early, but my earliest program deadline was today so I figured I'd get this thread started (since other years have had them).

If you want to share your deadline or the program/location and when you got your interview invite, that would be great! 🙂

(Also does anyone know if we get informed about rejections for interviews, or is it just that we aren't contacted about getting an interview?)

Programs will vary but generally it is polite to send a short thank you and "we have pursued other candidates" e-mail. You might not receive it until late February though.

I got a handful of thank you rejections last year, but also I didn't get any at all from some other programs which made me question if they even got round to my application.

Best of luck everyone!

They're supposedly required to notify you of a rejection per ASHP, but going through PGY1 applications last year, maybe 30% didn't ever respond back to me.

Hi

Its not so related to the discussion .. but still need advise on my present position.I was able to clear USML 2 only in the second attempt and hence was not able to put in my application this time. Now have to apply once more in sept 2018 , so that way I have almost one year gap before the next matching . What is the best way to utilize the time effectively to add on credits for my 2018 matching.

required? I never knew that - that being said we send out rejections once we have all of our interview spots filled up and confirmed. We may hold a few "borderline" people in limbo until two weeks into Feb when we are sure we are not going to have any people back out

I think you'd want to post this in the medical (MD or DO) section and not pharmacy. It might be more helpful that way. Unfortunately we aren't as well versed with MD/DO practices. But hopefully they will know.

Today classmates received:

-Interview at Saint Thomas Midtown (Nashville)

-Rejection from Wake Forrest

I've received interview invites from the New Mexico VA (1.4.18) and Multicare Health System in Tacoma (1.9.18)

People I know have heard back from NorthShore Health System, UW Madison, and University of Minnesota for PGY1 this week

Hello everyone! Congratulations on your interview invites!

I applied to PGY2 critical care, one rejection and three acknowledgement emails from programs that they received my application and will be reviewing it soon (one whose deadline has yet to pass, the other two deadlines are this week).

I'm pretty surprised at my rejection because the RPD told me she would be telling me interview times on Thursday of last week, but then she went into labor and one of the PGY1 program directors reached out to me a few days later and said my application packet did not qualify for an interview. This made me nervous, so, I reached out to them and asked what I could do to improve it. She said she would contact me this Friday and talk to me about it. It makes me wonder if one of my letters of recommendation may have been too vague. I noticed on some websites, they ask for the letter writers to fill in 75% of the comment fields. I was unaware of this prior to submission, and am hoping that could not tank my application. I just want to talk to them to find out what it specifically was, so that way I will not be utterly disappointed if I do not get any more interviews this go around.
Putting this into perspective: I received 12 interview invites last year and one rejection. Could it really just be the fact that there are not that many PGY2 spots? It won't let me post links because I am a new user, but you can look up the program specific statistics by googling "ASHP MATCHING STATS"

Someone created a giant google doc (perhaps a year ago) that had every single program on it and people would input whether or not they received an interview and when. From what I was seeing, last year's interview invites were sent out around mid to end of January. However, some of my friends' co-residents have already received one or two interview invites for PGY2 in critical care.
Here is a screen shot of the residency interview listings from last year. A lady named Katie Anne created it. I wonder if someone else could create it as well.

Can you specifically list which programs you applied to and who you heard back from?

The spreadsheet was maintained by someone who is currently a PGY-2...she posted in Reddit that she'd make someone the owner of it if they want to take it over for this year.

Rejection from Wake Forest on Monday, and video interview with MH-TMC also on Monday.
Some friends have heard back from Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy and St. Joe East in KY.

I’ve heard of interviews being offered for Louis Stokes Cleveland VA

Anyone heard from any Michigan or Chicago programs yet?

Anyone applying to PGY-2 oncology programs? I've heard from University of Kansas and Froedtert so far.

Anyone hear from UMC of southern nevada PGY1? Dignity health and Mountainview in Vegas have sent out invites

I'm applying for PGY-2 oncology as well! Heard from Froedtert, UW Medicine/SCCA, Utah, and Ohio State so far.
Nice! I applied to Utah/ U Medicine as well so I’ll take that as a bad sign. Good luck!

PGY1 Interview invite for Froedtert Hospital 1/10

For people who have heard back, were most of your deadlines at the end of December? I'm trying to get an idea of how long to wait before expecting a reply.

Yes, or the first of this month. The programs I'm still waiting on had deadlines 1/5, 1/8, and 1/12 (these are the programs I received acknowledgment emails from.

Hope this helps!

I've been told many interview invites don't get sent out until the mid to end of January.
