Resources for PAT
Started by Awara No. 1
The Barron's Book has a good PAT section.
The Topscore CD also has a decent PAT section..but a few quirks. It has 3 separate tests but the shapes are all similar so by the 3rd test you've memorized the shapes, and you're scoring higher on the PAT and it gives you a false sense of security. Nonetheless, take the tests and then stare at the answers until you figure them out. Don't do what I did, just reviewed the answers and thought I knew them. I ended up scoring very poorly on my PAT. I still got into my top choice school because I scored well on the rest of the DAT.
Good Luck!

Definitely look at other books besides Kaplan. I used only Kaplan because I was unaware of the other sources, and I did worse on my actual PAT than my practices (but still decent.) I would recommend doing as much practice as possible just so you pick up on those little tricks that will help save you time and you increase your speed overall.
The Barron's book is pretty good (it was the only one I used however). There are several errors in this paricular section, but I found it helpful for forcing myself to visualize the correct answer in my head instead of just looking at the answers. Good luck!
Hi Mangocoat and others
Looks like you recently took DAT. Thanks for your advise on PAT. I was wondering that how are the rest of the sections (Gen Chem, Orgo, Biology) in Kaplan compare to the real thing. Are they enough or other books needed to use. Thanks all for replies.

Hmm... if there are errors that any of you know about, could you post here what & where they are? Also, if you think there's an error but aren't sure about it, that would be helpful to know also (because if like 10 more of us think it's wrong, that would probably be a clue 🙂 ).
Would error-finders be willing to post:
Problem number
Page number
Incorrect part of question (or answer!)
Why it's incorrect
What it should be instead
Thanks x 10^6 😀
