Fellow Clinical Psychology Graduate Students,

Two years ago I was in the process of completing my dissertation and preparing for an APA internship at UCSF when my wife and I were critically injured in the Boston Marathon bombings (http://www.apa.org/monitor/2013/07-08/victims.aspx ; http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...er/njPh2G4baWRzmKC0lyh7CJ/story.html#comments). She and I have spent the last two years recovering from below-knee amputations, with the last year spent at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. It’s now time for me to finish what I was so close to completing two years ago.

In order to qualify for my study, you must be currently enrolled as a student in a clinical psychology doctoral program (Psy.D or Ph.D.) in the United States. With your help, I hope to solicit fellow students to take my online survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/docpsych

Thank you in advance for your support. These last two years have been the most difficult of our lives, but we have been overwhelmed by the kindness and love we have received from so many. My hope is to use my degree to return every ounce of that kindness and love, and then some.

Most gratefully,
Patrick Downes, M.A.
