So I understand that if you retake a class, it gets averaged in your gpa. However, I was wondering how they do this. For example, if you take a 3 credit hour class twice and got a "C" the first time and an "A" the second time, how would they calculate it? Would I have 3 credits of "C" and 3 credits of "A" on my gpa or would they average the two grades and give me 3 credits of "B". (thereby not counting the credit hours twice). Sorry if this is a really dumb question.

so 3 credit hours of "C" with 3 credit hours of "A" or are they only going to count the credit hours once and average the two grades making it 3 credit hours of "B"? Sorry im still confused but thanks for the help!

Put both grades down. 3 credits of 'C' and 3 credits of 'A'. Mathematically it will be the same as 6 credits of 'B'. Hope that helps.
