Hello. I'm an applied math major at UC Berkeley applying to MPH/SM biostat. Here are my stats:
-GPA: 3.77
-GRE: 168Q, 154V, waiting on writing
-Started research internship this August (Ongoing)
-Started a research of my own last December (Ongoing)
-Plenty of EC

Here are some schools I will be applying to:
-UC Berkeley, MPH Epi/Biostat
-UCLA, MPH Biostat
-Harvard, SM Biostat
-Yale, MPH Biostat

I had a nervous breakdown on the GRE verbal section and scored lower than I expected. Is it worth it to retake GRE just to raise the verbal score?

If the extra time and cost is of little consequence, then it won't hurt (Not sure, but I think you can choose which scores to send now?). But, I think the quantitative score matters more, especially for biostats. I applied for a Master's in Epi a few years ago, I got a 600 (160 equivalent) on my verbal and 4.0 (not good) on my writing, but got into all 6 programs (mostly "top" PH schools) I applied to. Also, it's always the application as a whole that matters. E.g. for me my GRE writing score wasn't good, but I had A's in all my writing courses in undergrad and had a few first author papers, so that was good enough evidence that I could write well.
