Currently I have a health seminar course that I am registered for (let's for example, call it GEN 300), and I am wondering whether I should keep it or drop it.
There are multiple subsections of this course code that are actually all different classes. However, on my transcript, it will just show up as GEN 300: Health Seminar.
The first time I took GEN 300 it was for the Applying to Professional Health Schools/Medical Schools course/subsection.
This second time around I am registered for the GEN 300 subsection of Mindfulness/Wellness for Pre-med students.
I was wondering, would this reflect poorly for medical school applications?
Would I be able to explain this? And even if I were able to explain it, would it still look bad? The first time I took this seminar was because I was told by my advisors to take it and that it'd be really helpful. This second time around, I am interested in this subsection for mindfulness/wellness because I have had a debilitating past year and wanted to take care of myself in some way.
Another reason for me holding onto this course is that I am trying to maintain myself at full time status so I don't lose my scholarship.
I'm afraid of the whole "course load will affect how adcoms view your med school app" mantra, but I can't afford to do much else at the moment. Hoping to get others' input.
Thanks for your thoughts.
