Retaking a P/NP class for a grade?

I'm debating on switching into another major. However, I changed the grading for a course from Letter Graded to P/NP. It’s a pre-requiste for the major, so I would have to take it Letter Graded to be accepted into the full major. I was wondering how adcoms would look upon this? It's not a pre-req for medical school but I've heard retaking a P/NP class for a letter grade looks bad. Should I retake the class anyways?

I doubt the admissions would even notice it, especially when it's not a pre-req. Admissions scanned through thousands of transcripts every cycle, and a retake is not going to catch their attention unless you failed it before.
