Hey guys!

I'm applying this upcoming summer for the 2015 cycle. My cumulative GPA is a 3.4 and I received C's in Bio 1, Physics 2, Anatomy, and Physiology when I took them at a university. I know if I retook these classes, I can get A's, which will help boost my pre-req and cumulative GPAs. However, there is a heavy chance I won't receive overrides into Anatomy and Physiology at the university level and I might have to take these courses at a community college level. Do you guys think that retaking these courses at a community college level will decrease my chances of getting accepted into a program?

Thanks!

it matters not where you take pre-reqs
grades are all that matter for pre-reqs

On PTCAS, theres a part where you can explain or mentioning anything you want admissions committee to know that they might not know based on rest of your application.

It definitely won't hurt your chances retaking or even taking classes the first time at community college. But if you have the opportunity to take it at a university the first time, I would. I went to VCU's open house and asked them about my chances. I have a 3.3, but I had a 2.5 freshmen year and averaged a 3.6 afterwards. They basically said it matters on GRE, prereq GPA and overall GPA and then I'm guessing everything else is used as a tiebreaker. So my freshmen year classes were all C's which is the prereqs classes so I'm at a disadvantage a bit.

Took half my pre reqs at community college. Got into my top two choices no problem

I took all of my pre reqs at a community college...they didn't care and it helped a lot. Rejections one year, all acceptances the next.

Not as much as having 1/3rd of your pre-reqs be unaddressed C's will.

And like others said, community college vs. university isn't really a big deal for PT school pre-reqs...that's more of a med school thing.

There are schools, CU is one I believe, that requires some pre-requisites from a University and not community college. I imagine there are others, so you should check.

You are definitely right, we should have mentioned that. It is easy enough to just call each school you are interested in applying to and ask, if it isn't obvious from their website.
