Retaking classes or no?

Depends on the grade in the class. If it is a grade holding you back, retake the class. That is basically what a postbac is, retaking basic science courses. If the grade is decent, i.e. B and up, then take higher level courses to make yourself stand out. Don't get bogged down retaking every class with a B to get get an A because that is just a waste of your time. Try and get A's in those upper level courses, it looks better that way.

If you are ill prepared for the course in question, repeating would be indicated. Otherwise, repeating courses does not do much to increase your knowledge.

Scenario 1: You take a 3 credit basic science and get a C then retake it and get an A.
Scenario 2: You take a 3 credit basic science and get a C then take an upper level 3 credit science and get an A.
In either scenario your GPA will be calculated to be the same, however, retaking the basic science makes it appear as if you're unable to make A's the first time around. Taking the upper science shows that you figured out what the problem was (study habits, etc) and were able to come back and do well in a harder course.
