I took the mcat this past summer (going into my junior year) and got a 27, a score I think I can improve. Due to the nature of my schedule, I found it very hard to study for the mcat while in class, thus I'm planing on retaking it this early/mid july and apply.

My question is how I should time my application. Should I verify before then update my score or wait till that second score comes in and then verify? My fear is that if I verify before my retake that I will be "screened" out of a secondary. Someone suggested verifying and sending my application to one school with my first test score and apply to the rest of my target schools once my second score comes in.

Any suggestions would be helpful

The suggestion you got from that someone is most likely your best bet.

Do you think it should be my in state school (the one I have the best chance) to get the paperwork in, or just another one?

If it were me, I'd start with my personal lowest choice. But others may have different opinions.

Look at the 10th percentile MCAT scores for schools you're applying to. If your MCAT is no more than 2 points lower than that, you won't get screened out. If this is the case for most of your schools, then verify immediately.

All depends on the schools you're applying to.
