I am a USA citizen. BS 88, MPH 98. passed step1 2004; 7 weeks from graduation when Katrina happened. 7 years in recovery now. I was recently granted permission by the Georgia State medical board to retake Step1 since it expired by ECFMG rules. so...here I go. MY CS is valid. I will hafta take Step1 and Step2ck back to back. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I used pass program in 2004. I have doctors in training videos. and I have access to gold standard audiobook.
Kaplan was not helpful the first time around.

Curious to know how people are studying now. is there and HIV3 yet?

Hi,
I felt I to reply, because I am also retaking Step 1 after passing it in 2004.
I graduated in Germany, live here now and trying to get licensed...
It's hard to get back into the matter of the basic sciences and a lot of it feels new again.
So browsing this forum is always really helpful.
I am taking the Kaplan on demand lectures and am pretty happy with that, as it gives me a structure and comprehensive learning tool.
Doing QBank also and First Aid.
Good Luck to you!

How do you get to retake STEP 1 after passing? Expiratory period I assume?

Guys don't waste your money or time on anything else but FA and qbanks. Start by memorizing and understanding FA, hit usmlerx , Kaplan then UW. if you have a hard time understanding or memorizing anything just google it. It is all there.

Hi. Daja, good luck to you too. Were you licensed in the USA and then are trying to get licensure in Europe? Pathoma and Sketchy are new since we passed in 2004.

I studied and graduated in Germany (took step 1 there in the middle of studies). I moved here after graduation and have not worked. The 7-year period between the 2 steps has of course passed.
