Hi everyone, I'm new around here so I would love to have some guides on the MCAT..
First of, how many editions are there for kaplan review books? I found plenty of different covers so I can't differentiate between them (I know that the latest one is the third edition. Would the 2015 review book be the second edition?)
2- Would the kaplan review books have exam papers? Or do I need another books for those?
3- What other books are there to help me on how to solve questions? Which would guide me through exams and give me hints/tips on how to solve questions?
4- If I'm able to go through the review books and get the book which would give me tips/hints/shorter way to solve questions, would I still need a review course by Kaplan? I'm really looking to do it for a month just before when I take it.
Thanks!

Look for the most recent publishing date (2016).

Kaplan books do not have practice passages in them. The EK and NS content books do. I did get 3 free MCAT Fl exams with my Kaplan books but their FL were not good at all or representative of the AAMC so I ditched them.

EK has their 1001 books, NS has their S&P books, all have lots of good practice Qs, the S&P books also have more practice passages. They are books though, so it's 1 level removed from true MCAT practice.

If you're disciplined, you may not need a course, but its all about whats gonna help YOU!

Can you tell me what sandp books are? And can you tell me all sources/ companies I could get exam questions from?
Thank you for the response too 🙂

NS calls them their strategy and practice books. AFAIK, they are the only company to make books like this for the sciences (all strategy and practice passages, not just discrete questions)

There are lots of companies, it depends on what you want. For exams/practice questions, the consensus seems to be that the AAMC is best (duh), followed by NextStep and Examkrackers
