Revoke acceptance for F?

So last semester (Fall 2008) I made an F in calculus 2 and am retaking it this semester. My prereqs and degree will still be completed, so can dental schools revoke my acceptance for that F in cal 2?

Other schools might be more forgiving, but it seems that Tufts has a pretty set policy.

you should definitely call up and ask. it would be a very rude awakening if they revoke it in may or something...
most of the schools do have clauses like that but they usually say that your acceptance can be revoked or in tufts case it seems like "grounds for" so it's not automatic.. i believe the school does judge case by case... definitely call and ask.

IMO, you will be fine. But you never know.
Unless someone comes on and says they failed a class and Tufts did not revoke then you just have to call.

Yea..I read this multiple times and it does say upon reciept of at least a C. I'm assume that retaking and making anything above a C will count, but will call monday.

I know that's what one of the professor did for one of our students. Who was going to a chiropractic school. He got a D in ochem, and he begged for a C.

At my school. Professors have until the end of the following semester to submit changes to grades in case of grade disputes, misgrading, etc.

maybe you could ask him if you could do some extra credit for him .. i dont 'know grade papers??(since you cant really do research on calc...) and ask if he could change the F to a P on the report... tell him your situation about how your acceptance might be revoked. most prof. do not want to see their students to fail. if i remember correctly there was a post similar to this couple of wks ago. the OP was given extra work and he was able to get a P on the report.

umm i go to a really big, well regarded state school, and i have never heard of that happening. Ive heard of people asking, and got laughed in their face. I think that is messed up if you can whine and get your grade changed.. you earned the grade you got. it sucks but nobody can be blamed but yourself. (unless there was a serious family issue or something-in which case you can maybe beg the dean for a class drop at best)

I personally tried once to get my 91.6 up to a 92 for an A in my 2nd sem ochem with the offer of outside work or whatever (and im in the Chem frat at our school, which the prof was a member of as well) and was 100% denied.

oh yeah, and im a "decent looking" girl. (at the risk of being ridiculed for making that claim)

dont be so harsh on afgirl, im with her, thats not right for schools to bring your F to an C because you did research for a week.

I once asked my abnormal psych professor, or I asked her to reconsider changing my B+ to an A - from an 89.94%. She also straight up denied me 100% as well.

If I were that ochem professor, knowing that a student of mine would've gotten denied to go to his dream chiropractic school after the semester; and I like the kid. I'll probably consider making things happen for him too. He went from a D to a C. I was just exaggeraging about going from a F to a C. It's not about following the policies, sometimes people just give in to their soft side of their hearts. Is it fair? Of course it's not to some of the students who also did not pass the class. Scandals happen ALL OVER THE WORLD and all over the fields. Don't think of this world as being fair and pure, it is NOT.

I know one of our alumnis got into a dental school recent years ago with a 3.0 and a 17 on a DAT. She got into a pretty good dental school and is doing GREAT. How did she get in the first place??? Because she is best friend with that school's dean's daughter. A lot of times, it's just about connections. Fair?? Don;t think so....that's why we gotta work together and get to where we wanna go instead of insulting each other.

Think before you're thinking about making such comment that MIGHT insult others. That's where maturity shows.....I simply don't appreciate the fact for you to call me university a JOKE SCHOOL.

I had a friend take this blowoff class once where the professor didn't grade them on anything and in the end of the semester he was the ONLY person in the class (of about 20) to get a B.

That's not the ironic part; it's ironic because this guy is no slouch, 4.0 for 3.5 years, double major in Biomedical Sciences and Ento, and 95%tile MCAT. He was so angry that he went to every single head of the department but was denied. He finally called on the policy review board at our school and got it changed by the president of the university b/c, technically, the professor had violated school policy by not assigning grades.

We talked about it and he wasn't really upset about the B, but just the fact that the teacher gave it to him apparently out of spite, even though he had done nothing different from any of the other students. He said that had it been a normal class with tests, and he "earned" a B, that was exactly what he would accept.

Sometimes looks aren't good enough. Sometimes it comes down to your measurements and how far you indicate you are willing to go. This type of thing happens at most schools. Don't kid yourself.

If she said something like...WHAT!!! NO WAY!!! HOW COME I NEVER HEARD OF THIS. etc. That is fine. You can't ignore the fact she called my school a JOKE SCHOOL. She made a direct insult to my school; Which I respect VERY MUCH. On top of that, she also made an indirect insult on me as a graduate of SDSU.

Again, I dont know anything about the person. You might be right, she might be too naive/innocent at the moment. That is why I did not send her a private message and verbally abuse her.

I asked them to review my transcripts but they would not do it. All systems are corrupt. If I am on ADCOMs one day I will help out people I know. That is life.

if you read above, some kid was complaining about how he tried to ask a prof for a favor and got denied, so his "hot" female friedn went in and the prof did the favor for her... i was trying to argue that looks or gender dont have any pull either (at my school at least).

Oh looks and gender matters VERY MUCH especially for the TA's. I've heard stories from a friend of mine whos now a professor at a college. Yap....if a male TA thinks a female student is good looking, they'll pull some strings to try to get with the female students. We're tlaking about graduate students who are in their mid 20's.

If a good looking guy approaches a female teacher she will be more lenient (ive seen this when a female is both married or single). Moreso if they are single..nay...ESPECIALLY if they are single.

If a hott girl approaches a single male professor he will be MUCH more lenient. If he is married (especially if he has a younger daughter) he will not be lenient and wont be accepting.

The teacher likes you and is avaliable. Nothin will come of it..but it puts the teacher in a different light and you MIGHT remember them down the line. Who knows?

Ya I hate how AADSAS calculates science GPAs. Exercise physiology does NOT count as a BCP course. Even though we talked about the exact same thing as the regular physiology. The only difference was, we learned a setp beyond the physio class and talked about what happens to the human body under exercise condition. And we skipped the reproductive system.....that is all. Ok well, heat decreases sperm production. We did learn something, I take that back.
