Hey guys....I understand the concept of the right hand rule, but the counter-clockwise, clock-wise directions are killing me. For example...If a positive charge is going towards the right, and the magnetic field is X "into the page", my thumb is pointing right (velocity of + charge), my fingers are pointing into page, so my palm is up....How does this mean the direction is counter clockwise???? Thanks so much Can you guys give me example for each direction and stuff? THANK YOU

I think in that example if your palm is pointing up it would be like the charged particle is "turning left" or being forced left in relation to it's velocity in a constant magnetic field.
If something is constantly turning left it's going in a counter-clockwise circle. I think you have to envision the counter clockwise motion of your hand moving along the path that would be produced from the force. It will either be a circle, an escape orbit, or a decaying orbit I believe, but all would be counter-clockwise from your example.
