D deleted6669 Jul 4, 2012 #3 RN is a great background for pa. lots of folks do it. also consider the dual pa/np program at uc davis for bsn prepared nurses. 2 yrs, both certs.

Click to expand... NP's have more autonomy to practice without supervision in some states. NP's are preferred in some settings. PA's are by far better trained in surgical and acute care specialties. PA's are preferred in some settings. Having the NP title with the PA training can't be beat.
