There is a hole in the argument that American workers will replace immigrants. For many jobs, the cheaper and more likely replacement is a robot.

According to my calculations based on Guv stats/info in 10 years we are looking at 25% unemployment in USA which is 1930's unemployment. This was deflationary in the USA in 1930's and inflationary in Germany at the same time. Which way the USA goes depends on the Guv. A possible solution is WW3. I plan on eventually buying or leasing a Tesla or Honda robot to help around the house eventually. Or a Chinese robot made in the USA. Made by Chinese robots made in the USA.

I think pain, as a career, will only become more valuable as robots and AI enter the ring.

But I really think the struggle to survive will decrease significantly for most people.

So AI is based on what humans know and have done. If it replaces people doing things (I am thinking of physicians/healthcare workers) how do things progress so that AI knows what to do in the future? If humans are not performing clinical work how does clinical work advance? If clinical work doesn't advance how does AI ever get better? It seems like you need some amount of inputs from humans so AI knows what to do....The next 50-100 years are going to fascinating...
