For those who have an interview at Rochester, what do you make of the first interview question that we were asked to email in. Do they mean personal interests (like boning up on my ultimate frisbee skills) or medically related interests. If it is the later, it seems to me that the question is geared towards people who did research. Surely that cannot be right, right?

I don't know how to approach this question, exactly.

I have the same question. I just decided to write a response that covered both personal and medically related interests.

When did you two here from Rochester about an interview? When were your files complete?

What was the question you were asked? (please post exact).

BUMP, kinda curious myself.

here you go,

1. What interests do you hope to continue or develop as you pursue your medical education as Rochester?

2. Currently, what medical career pathway (academic, private practice, specialty area) are you considering, and what factors have contributed to your choice.

Supposed to email these to them about half a week before your interview. My guess is that these are designed to prime the interview as they are otherwsie blind.
