Hey, just wanted to know if any has gotten in recently? i called the admissions last tues and they said they'll send out more in a week. anyone know how ling it takes? stats if its ok too. thanks!

ditto that. i called last week and they said they'd review apps this week. the last time i called they had filled their class of 110 with 90 students thusfar.

i'm still waiting as well.

I got so hosed on RFU's application cycle. I applied in early march and was told that my application was complete at the end of march. Then after not hearing anything for a few weeks I called in May and they told me a transcript was missing. So I made my dials and made sure the transcript got re-sent. A week later I called and they told me they still didnt have it. I was like are you people crazy? Then she's like the only transcript we keep getting from Alaska is some dude named ****. I was like OMFG that's me you bats!! They had the transcript the entire time and just last week was it complete. Now there are only 20 seats left and and flying around on the edge of my seat. I did manage to get into another program so I am entirely distressed but I would love to have the "opportunity" to attend RFU. If I dont get in I'll feel like a victim in this deal but c'est la vie. Just my little rant.

hey guys im also waiting- i emailed them few days ago and they said my app was complete and was currently in committee. They said i should check on my status next week... keeping my fingers crossed....

question: for those of you still waiting..... are any of you reapplying now? I am still on some waitlists but reapplying is in order- but i would like to get my amcas out sooner than later --- but cant until i know what im gonna do next year- im just afraid by the time i hear it will be too late to apply what are you guys doing?

I spoke to a lady on Monday and she said that we should here back really soon. (I think today or tomorrow). I missed the deadline to send additional information (i.e. April MCAT 2005 score) So , it hope this really doesn't hurt me. If all this doesn't work out for me, then I guess I off to do a master's program at Hopkins.

My fingers are crossed and good luck to all with their fingers crossed!

Yes, and I was declined to have an interview. I should note that I did apply really late (October-November) to about 20 schools and got one interview at Tulane and that was it.

Average GRE: 450V, 693Q, 610A, 4.38 Writing

After 23 MD rejections, 1 wait list, and no word from RF, I am there with you.

I thought my stats would be up to par:

GPA: 3.85 (science: 3.88)
PS= 11, BS = 10, V = 9 WS = O

But my MCAT score is lower than their recent acceptances. I'll be hitting the gym to wait out the rest of process.

Do you know how many people are still left in the applicant pool? B/c if we knew that there were like some 100 people left then we might not have a good shot. There is definitely a pragmatic approach at look at our chances.

Wow, no RF acceptance even with those stats? Seems like the program is getting competitive to get into. Thats better stats than CMS, isn't it?

i'm also waiting. i applied over 2 months ago...

32 on mcat... 3.6 gpa.. i thought i'd be a shoe in... apparently not..

i'll also be going to the gym meanwhile. it just sucks either way cus either im' gonna get screwed with housing,.. or screwed without anything to do for a year.

i called a few days ago and they said they sent out 107 acceptances.. class size of 110.... about 20 ppl haven't replied yet... will have about 2 more rounds of acceptances..

Those are dam good stats also! I m gonna be apply for the RFU AP program next cycle, i m wondering if this trend will continue?

i called this morning and the office told me that no more acceptances would be given out until after the 4th of july weekend. And also only if those 20 people give up their spots. Give up your spot if you dont want to go and spare the rest of us a nervous break down!

waiting is getting rough.. i just got a call from drexel's isp program saying i was accepted... sounds similar to the ap program just without the guarantee... anyone have any input on this? anyone considering the same program?

yeah i just got a call from drexel today also. i was waiting to hear from RF and Gtown, but as of now it looks like drexel...if you get any important info could u send it my way. i'll do the same

this whole process doesnt really spare us from going insane does it. i just spoke to an adcom person from a med school waitlist im on and didnt get great news but am relieved that i got into these 1yr masters programs. i just sent the letter to give up my ap spot yesterday, so somebody will be getting what they want in a week or so. hang in there, i know i am.

it seems tough to get in when ur working ur butt off competing with crazy good applicants, til u actually get in. then it's like, wow, that was easy. funny how the mind forgets. look at it this way, all of us who are motivated enough to keep working towards progress and helping one another out by posting stuff and encouraging each other in this forum will make out through in the end. if you want it bad enough, time's not a big deal.

I have heard that if you do well in the IMS program...better than a 3.0 GPA then you are guaranteed an interview with Drexel Med. The average MCAT they accepted last year was 29.6, and is looking that this year it is a 31.5.
Regarding the school, I have heard that it has a good reputation for being very student-friendly, and one guy chose Drexel Med over UCDavis and Yale!! hmm

i just got a call from ros frank, two hours after getting a call from drexel... i got off the waitlist into their regular md program!!!! that means for those on the waitlist for the md program, they're still processing the list. when i called last week, they said they had to wait for at least 5 ppl to drop first. funny thing is the ap program hasn't accepted me (yet?).. how ironic.. actually kinda frustrating..

one thing i truly learned from all of this is perseverence..

Hey all,

I just got off the phone with the lady. She basically said the same things you'll mentioned previously about 20 acceptance were given out, they won't make more acceptance until some of these people drop off, and decisions won't be made until late next week. Here's the kicker: there are about 80 still in the applicant pool, these people are not waitlisted and not ranked. Basically, they will reevaluate these 80 or so sometime late next week for what ever seats open up!!

Thank goodness for Plan B!!

I spoke to the lady this morning, and she basically said no acceptances would be offer until next Monday at the earliest. 😱 😱 And then when I asked her about "chances" and things like that she said that are still about 40 applicants that are under review and so when they come back it will be the time when the determine whom I am completing with.
So does that mean I am waitlisted? Or just kinda like a sitting duck?? 😕 😕
And what do I need to be doing to give myself the edge to get an acceptance???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
