No. So far I am not interviewing on any days. But I do wish to interview someday.

I actually live in a suburb of Chicago, 18 miles west of Chi-town proper, but I chose to leave the night before and stay in a cheap hotel, which is where I am now 😉 I did not want to fight the God-awful Chicago/Illinois construction and morning rush hour traffic, that is why I chose a hotel, so sadly I cannot answer your question. BUT - if you have an interview, you received an envelope with a list of student email addresses in it, ask one or two of them, a lot of the RFUMS students are from out of town and ALL of them are very helpful!

a cab ride from my hotel to ohare is 45 dollars each way. i rented a car for 60 dollars/day. saves you 30 bucks.

u do realize u could've gotten the car rental for around 31 bucks. i use hotwire and i'm 22. eventho the price is higher for 22 yr olds, 31 bucks is still pretty cheap. (and no i don't work for hotwire, haha) 😀

I found it to be low stress and much better than I had imagined!

damn...never used hotwire...hows the drive up there? an hour?

i think enterprise has a deal until the end of the year for $10 a day for car rental... 🙂

I just called RF and was told my file is being sent for a secondary screening. Does anybody know what that means? 🙁

I was told the same thing after my file had been complete for about 3 weeks. I didn't want to push it since they were nice enough to even look at my status. 2 weeks later I got an e-mail saying I was in the possible interview pool. I don't know if this helps you at all.

Thank you for the info, Ashanti. 😳

RFUMS was my first (and so far only) interview, and therefore, it will be my first real acceptance or rejection (I don't count NWU as that was a given). I think I am going to go insane! I need at least 1 acceptance to relax a little. I REALLY want to go to Loyola, and I have been working really hard to get in the door there (I have friends there that are m1 and I work with alums who are pulling for me, but no luck yet...same situation with UIC) but an acceptance to RFUMS is one I could definitely live with if no one else pans out. I did like it, it is just a lot farther from where I live than any of the others and it is in the middle of nowhere's-ville. Not that the location is everything, but I already have a house in a Chicago suburb that I don't want to have to sell. Moreover, Loyola is Jesuit, which suits me very well! HELP guys! Hasn’t everyone just about had it with this whole process? Everyone keeps saying how early it is, but it doesn't feel early, I hate doing things last minute!!!!

And I now hate my email as it is always void of med school correspondence +pissed+

In addition, my mailman lives in fear of me!

I always like to plan ahead and do things early, definitely not last minute.

My e-mail and snail mail boxes are as barren and empty as the polar ice caps... and give me what I imagine is the same bonechillingly cold feeling when I open them.

My mailman almost lost a finger in my mad grab for the mail yesterday. I haven't gotten my mail yet today... I hope he comes back...
