I know they said they send out decisions after December 1, but does anyone know the actual dates? Is there a certain day each month, or do you just hear back according to when you interview?

I interviewed there first week..havent heard a peep from them. but ppl who interviewed in mid nov have gotten an acceptance. I am presuming either I got rejected or waitlisted...

P.S I will be declining their acceptance anyways, this way it will make it less painful for me 🙂

Do you guys know how long it takes Rosalind Franklin to contat you?
I was complete end of October and haven't heard a thing and I really want to interview there.

call them up and see if you are on hold for an interview...

I heard mid-sept, interviewed mid-october. I haven't heard back either. Does it really mean rejection/waitlist if we haven't heard yet? And does anyone know the answer to my first post?

Last year first acceptances went out Dec 12th...this year couple ppl got it Oct 25th...

I don't even think they pick up the phone...so if we haven't heard in a month or so after completion does that most likely mean hold?

i doubt it, i bet they're just really busy and backed up.

When I interviewed there, they said that you should call 2 weeks afterwards for a status update.

I heard less than a week after I interviewed though. 🙂

I interviewed the tuesday before Thanksgiving and was told that we would be considered at the December meeting and that we should expect to hear by mid-December.

anyone know more about how their decisions work? if we interviewed in october but didn't hear back yet does that mean rejection/waitlist?

My theory:

i think those who got accepted early were pretty good candidates (top scores in the interview process). The rest i think have been given a number (they rank their students, each component gets a number)...and those of us waiting are holding out for the nov/dec decisions. if we are above that group in terms of marks we will get an acceptance...if we are worse we will get rejections/wailists.

Just hold on till mid dec...and we should have a better idea.

I just interviewed there. My understanding is that the committee meets once a month and they accept a number of applicants (not sure what %-it varies, I'm guessing). Everyone who is not accepted is reviewed again at the next committee meeting and each subsequent committee meeting until a decision is made. I think I remember reading somewhere that no one is rejected post-interview until late spring. Good luck :luck:

After you get an interview, do you think components other than the interview are weighted heavily in the decision?

has anyone called them lately about interview invites?

I think interview means as much as grades and mcats...but what do i know 😀

is it common for people to not get accepted the first meeting after their interview and then get in later?

I interviewed on 10/27, and my acceptance was postmarked 11/17. I think this school is really an upcomer and I am definitely considering attending. The faculty was extremely kind. Good luck to all! 😀

I was told the same thing. I think they meet around Dec 15th and people should be hearing around then.:luck:

Kind of a back-handed compliment there, huh?

That's kinda what I was thinking, BigKurz. Besides, 2 examples is a pretty small sample size for that analysis. 😛

RFU seems to have non-astronomical averages for GPA and MCAT scores, but I felt like their secondary really manifested their most essential screening criteria: the abilities to concisely communicate, be introspective, and identify with the educational ideals of the school.

I haven't heard anything back from them yet, but I remain hopeful nonetheless. Best wishes to everyone else who's applying, and those of you who are post-interview!! :luck:

good luck guys!

I am glad Watson and Crick took her X-ray picture... I have not received Jack squat from Rosalind Franklin. A Life of Discovery up my bunghole.

Hahaha. Its a life IN discovery ...up your bunghole

In, on, of up, under... what difference does it make. All I wanted to do was love her and she went and died on me without even giving me an interview. What the hell is wrong with the schools in Chicago. If you are from CA, they roll out the bloody carpet for you, but if you are from Chicago you can sod off and wait until there are pieces of moldy bread and sour milk left to fight over... you and the other 10,000 applicants that would cut off their left nut to get a chance.

This is utter cods wallop. My prose were concise and eloquently phrased and I haven't heard from the X-ray lady's minions! This Life in, on or whatever the hell they call it, is only to throw people off the scent that they have no hospital and their tuition is one of the highest in the country. No matter how dexterous your word play may have been on this bloody application, I don't think they really give a rats bum. There are only a certain number of ways you can skin a cat (unless you have studied in depth on how to hurt animals)... I am glad she didn't get a nobel... I hate her.

I havent heard back from them at all, should I call and ask if im on preitnerview hold?

I interviewed there the second week in November and got my acceptance right before thanksgiving (via snail mail)

Yeahhh...my first acceptance...good luck to everyone!

How is the school?
Is it a nice area? Pleasant buildings?

I want to apply to just this school to see if I could get in although I'm really not done building up my stats just yet...
Would this be a waste of time?

If you're applying just to see if you could get in, yes it is a waste of time and money. Don't apply just to apply. Apply because you really would go there if you got accepted.

It's so true. Give your damn in state people a shot. I just want one interview from you. If you want, skip the interview...just give me an acceptance...lots of work for both of us bypassed.
