I have been trying to do some research on this for DO schools specifically but haven't been able to find too much. I am really interested in traveling and global health medicine. I was wondering if anyone knew or had experience with any DO schools that allow for clinical rotations abroad? I've seen a few threads about rotations in AUS, which I would definitely be interested in. Or any rotations in Spain? I lived there for awhile and would love to return at some point and practice spanish. I'm just not quite sure how it all would work and having information about a DO school that offers more global health programs would definitely sway any future decisions.

I'd love any input!

Rocky Vista does medical missions in other countries (Guatemala, Nepal, etc) and also seems to allow people to do international rotations as well:

I think most schools will let you do your electives anywhere you want.

Virtually every school has medical missions (I don't know of one that doesn't - maybe the newest ones don't have it set up yet). Many will let you do an international elective, but some don't because of insurance coverage reasons (read: more paperwork & $$). I'd contact each school and ask them directly to be sure.

DMU has an incredible global health department! It's even part of their mission statement.

Check the College Information Book, usually there's a little blip for whether or not each school offers some form of international elective rotations. And then you can check with the school to figure out where (if restrictions exist).

I am definitely looking forward to doing one during my 4th year.

LMU-DCOM has an international medicine club and I'm fairly certain you can set up international rotations.

This is what the admission committee told me yesterday when I asked questions during my interview. I am 100% sure DCOM students can do international rotations as long as they can obtain agreement form between 2 schools. A friend of mine at DCOM did that during summer when traveling to visit family in another country.
