Does anyone know if we’re on a rolling admission basis? Like are they sending acceptances right after each interview date or they’re waiting to interview everyone and then go back and make a decision at the very end?

I don’t recall seeing anything from them that said it was rolling admissions. Since interview invites are all out at the same time and not based on when we submitted our applications, I don’t expect that decisions will come out based on when we interview. Also, there’s only a about week between the beginning and end of interviews, which doesn’t seem like enough time for them to turn around admissions decisions (based on how long other schools have been taking after their interviews this year). That’s just my reasoning.

Does anyone have any idea how many interviews were sent out?

That’s what im hoping! I hope it isn’t like we have 70 seats, we interview the first few groups who interview on the 1st and start offering seats for those and then the people who interview by the 9th gets the short end of the stick bc there’s less seats left to offer

If they are expecting to fill all time slots allotted for each of the 4 days of interviews it would be 480 people for interviews. There are 8 time slots each day and there was 15 spots available in each at the beginning.
So that would be 480 interviews for 70 seats (which they say is going to be about half-and-half IS and OOS)

that is so many for them to go through for that many seats and that little time- sorta wish they narrowed it down more. also since they know this is the last school a lot of people are waiting to hear from

Hopefully that’s just providing flexibility for the times and they are interviewing fewer people than that.

I think 480 is a lot of people to interview for 70 available seats so I would agree with @Anxiety-ridden Girl that they may be providing flexibility to schedule interviews.

Im curious to know how many applications they received and how many will actually be offered interviews vs how many waitlists for acceptances they’ll offer too

OOS invite! hoping like y'all said that its not rolling and theres not 480 people interviewing

480 interviewees wow I hope not! especially for the first year.. i wouldve thought they would have less applicants and less interviews for the inaugural class. mississippi state interviewed a bit over 300 for 118 seats.. 480 for 70 is crazyyy

Personally I don’t think they will interview 480 people that’s just the amount of open time slots before anyone would have started signing up. I have no idea how many applications they got, but I’m guessing like 250 will interview.

I’d love to know if anyone’s application number was above 1000 to at least have an idea of how many people applied.
Hopefully they’ll release the stats after interviews are over.

Is anyone else nervous for the MMI? I’m wondering if they’re sticking to asking only situation and judgment based questions/scenarios or if they’ll also ask personal questions too. Did anyone hear anything about the interview being closed or open file?

I agree with you that’s it’s probably around 250. SDSU interviewed 100 people for 20 spots so I feel like that guess would fit with that

yeah, I'm a little nervous about the MMI format, I've never interviewed like that before. anyone have any tips?

yeah, I'm a little nervous about the MMI format, I've never interviewed like that before. anyone have any tips?
All of my interviews for this cycle have been MMI (and I've gotten into the ones I've interviewed at!). The best advice I can think of is to not answer with what you think they want to hear but answer with how you truly feel (they can tell when you don't). Explain your thinking fully without being too repetitive or judgmental. They tend to be situational judgment questions, so maybe do some research on ethical concerns within vet med and think of some real-life scenarios of these concerns and how you would react. Just remember that empathy goes far! They normally only ask situational questions in MMIs, but since Rowan is figuring out as they go, it can't hurt to think about some basic questions, such as why you want to be a veterinarian and whatnot.

As for the formatting, every other school (for me at least) has allowed you to read the prompt, have a minute or two to prepare, and then allows you to answer the question within 3 to 5 minutes. Having a paper to collect and organize your thoughts on really helps, especially if you panic while answering. They also tend to ask follow-up questions, which is not an indicator of doing poorly, it's just so they can further understand your thought process!

Just try not to overthink and you'll do great! I believe in you 🙂

thank you so much, this is so helpful!! and VERY reassuring

Can someone explain to me how we take the NAVLE with Rowan since it’s new and not accredited but has reasonable assurance? Do we have to take any of the other exams because it’s not accredited?

Didn’t apply to Rowan but I will answer for the group. As long as Rowan has that LORA, you will be able to sit the NAVLE. They will hold that LORA until their first graduating class in 2028, at which point the NAVLE scores will be released to see if they will receive provisional or full accreditation depending on the scores. Although you will be the first class so a new curriculum and totally new school is a lil scary, you will be able to sit the NAVLE regardless since it’s an AVMA Letter of Reasonable Assurance.

Does anyone know when they are expected to release decisions?

Surprised to see all the spots filled pretty much when trying to reschedule my interview. I wonder if they did fill all the slots?

After this weekend they’ll most likely have chosen who they want from those two days of interviews by the end of next week, if not early next week. Then they’ll repeat that the weekend after. I can’t imagine them needing more than a week after the second weekend of interviews. I agree that it won’t be later than April [emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]]. Rooting for you all! We got this!

Does anyone know when they are expected to release decisions?
Decision day is April 15th so it has to be before then! I would think mid to late March so ppl have time to make a decision and pay their deposit!

Surprised to see all the spots filled pretty much when trying to reschedule my interview. I wonder if they did fill all the slots?

part of me is also speculating that perhaps they put out a lot of slots, but maybe a certain amount per day would actually be done? example being twenty slots in a day but only ten interviews. that meaning people have a lot of flexibility (especially with only two weekends given) but still have correct amount of interviews to give

I honestly don’t know, I think they actually may have filled a lot of those slots. The time I picked was filled on the first day of invites being sent out. But maybe they have allotted a certain number of slots each day and then closed/marked the remaining time slots that day as full. Currently 14 total spots remaining for 3/9

Would anyone who’s interviewed through Kira before explain the process for me? I’m trying to figure out how I’m supposed to log in on the day of, make sure my camera will work with Kira, etc., but I’m not seeing any specific instructions about this in the invitation/confirmation emails from Rowan or on Kira’s website.

Depending on when you're interviewing you will receive an email from the school. I am interviewing this weekend and go the email yesterday with explicit directions on all of this. If you are interviewing next weekend, expect the email by Thursday.

Does anyone know if Rowan’s interview is open or closed file? I’m assuming closed for MMI?

I was also wondering about this. I would think closed because they are just evaluating you based on how you respond to the questions

On a related note, does anyone have an idea whether Rowan’s MMI consists of Casper-type questions/acting scenarios, traditional interview questions just without the traditional panel format, or some mix thereof? I don’t know if I’m wasting my time reviewing my application and practicing talking about my experiences or not.

I’m not sure so I’m trying to be prepared for everything. I would say more MMI/ scenario questions

sorry if this has been said but do we know the turnaround after interviewing?

Just finished my interview! I actually enjoyed using Kira Talent, I’m glad we got to try that
Hi, were the questions they asked situational or personal? I have my interview tmr afternoon and am trying to prepare for it and not sure what to focus more on.

Good luck to everyone interviewing tomorrow!
If it isnt too much to ask, could people today or tomorrow see if their interview time slots are actually full? Im curious as to how many interviews are being conducted it seems like a lot for such a small amount of seats

sorry if this has been said but do we know the turnaround after interviewing?

guessing march fourteenth at the earliest but april first the latest. They have to give folks time to decide if they have multiple schools before the universal deadline
