Hey guys im giving my DAT in half a month and i just dont understand how to do log questions with a calculator? it makes no sense to me. math is definitely the hardest section for me. any tips will be helpful

This is explained in the DAT Destroyer. If you take - log 1 x 10 exp -5 we get 5. If we take -log x 10 exp -12 we get 12. If there is a 1 before the 10....all is great ! Now.....if there is a 2 just go a bit lower......for ex. -log 2 x 10 -5 is about 4.8 and - log 4 x 10 -13 is about 12.4. Now you try...... what is - log 3 x 10 exp -8 ? I hope you get about 7.5. This will save you in the Gen Chem ! Hope this helps....Dr. Jim Romano
