I recently emailed the PD of a residency i'm interested in regarding research opportunities along with my CV. The PD emailed me back stating interest in meeting me in terms of giving residency advice, etc. Should I accept it as a genuine interest in me as an applicant or is it just courtesy? Is this the best way to get my foot in the door? If so, how should I go about in handling this so that i don't mess up my future chances in matching?

In the previous specialty I was applying to, PD was very open to helping and advising. He even gave me his number if I had an emergency question to text lol. Great guy. I honestly wish all PDs were like that.

Ah, here we have a medical student in their natural habitat. Watch him lurking the savanna as he quietly stalks his prey. Magnificent creature!
