Does anyone have any experience running SAS on a Macbook Pro/Macbook Air via Bootcamp or VMWare Fusion? I know that getting a PC is generally easier for running SAS, but I have had bad luck with PCs and reliability.

Hey Mihyang,

I run SAS on my MacBook via bootcamp. SAS itself runs beautifully. Unfortunately, I often like to write up results while running my code, but don't want to dole out the cash for a PC version of Microsoft Word/Office. If you already use neooffice or open-office (free alternatives), then you should be golden. For some reason, I'm not a huge fan of the two, so the process is a bit annoying. But they get the job done, and (to me) it beats owning a PC full-time.

Edit: Or maybe you can use your Mac-version of a word processor while running VMWare?

Thanks werd! I just got a macbook pro, so I'll see what running SAS on VMWare is like. It looks like it should have just enough power!
