Hey, so I'm trying to decide to go to interviews at MCW and Drexel after I received acceptance at Rush last week. I am an Illinois resident, and really liked Rush on my interview day there. I just don't have a lot of information on the other two schools, so any thoughts on either MCW or Drexel would be appreciated. My MCW interview is next Friday (Halloween), and Drexel is the week of Thanksgiving, so a bit more time to decide on Drexel. Thanks for the help!

I don't know how helpful you'll find this, but I liked it...basically a blog about going to med school at Drexel, gives you some idea of what one person thought of it, at least, and how some of the things look from the inside

Do your research
Yeah I've been trying at it looks like stats wise they are all pretty similar. I've heard that MCW is a bit more research focused/tech advanced, but idk also the culture for someone from the Chicago area to go to a school in Milwaukee if I have a school in Chicago available to me. It's also hard that one of my friends has that as an acceptance and of course loves it, so a bit of a biased source.

thanks for the blog!! I will be sure to check it out 🙂

It's not that expensive/difficult to travel from Chicago to Milwaukee is it? So why not go?
Drexel's a little further -- is it that difficult for you to attend?

And congratulations on your early acceptance! Yours is truly a First World Problem --

MCW is generally considered to be a much better school with great pediatrics and anesthesia departments.

Since you're so close I'd at least go to the MCW interview unless you know for certain you'd rather go to Rush.

Do you know about the strength their surgical departments compared Rush and also to the schools not too far, like Loyola and UIC?

Agree with the above. Go to MCW or you'll always wonder what if. With Drexel you're really not missing anything.

I would also agree with going to MCW and withdrawing from Drexel.

Another vote for going to MCW! I enjoyed my visit to the school immensely and was very impressed, plus it's really close to where you live 🙂

Thanks for the thoughts, I actually decided to withdraw from both places. After giving it some thought, I don't think I would realistically choose Milwaukee over Chicago for a similarly ranked school, and it sounds like Drexel is not as good as Rush. Good luck to all and hopefully I helped open up some more interviews for people! 🙂
