Having trouble deciding between these schools- a bit about me:
I’m Asian, from SoCal and love warm weather, and I’m interested in competitive specialties.
Both have:
-federal loans
-high match rates and decent competitive specialty matches every year
-high board pass rates
-solid research opportunities
ICOM:
- in the Boise area (I like how it’s in a more urban area which is what I’m used to), more stores and places I’m accustomed to like Trader Joe’s)
- seems to be more diverse ethnically
-accepted students day was a whole event that was fun and the student body was great
-letter grade scale
-really snowy cold winters
RVU:
-in St.George which is extremely small
-very ethnically and religiously homogenous (60% Mormon- and I’m not)
- P/F
-closer to family
-warmer weather, doesn’t really snow there
-accepted students day was a bust and the homogeneity of the other students there concerned me (everyone was still very nice)
- exams are board style questions
-global health track that I’m very interested in
