Hi everyone, I feel these schools have been beat to death with their comparisons but I would love any insight you might have.
School RVU-Utah
Pros
Cons
School ICOM
Pros
Cons
Pros
Cons
Summary: Overall if I was going off vibes I would pick ICOM. However I realize that RVU is more established, slightly cheaper and P/F pre-clinical which I know seems to make pre-clinical life a lot easier. Overall I wouldn't say I'm super interested in LECOM but would like any input on if I should be considering it more than I currently am.
School RVU-Utah
Pros
- -- Pass/Fail Preclinical
- -- WICHE Scholarship (I'm from the Mountain West)
- Great Match List
- Cheaper
Cons
- -- Rotation sites? Competing with Noorda and University of Utah for rotations
- -- Living in St. George? I've only briefly driven through a few times.
School ICOM
Pros
- -- Really liked the vibes on the admitted students day
- -- Location and closer to family, more things to do in Boise
- Match list
Cons
- -- Letter grade pre-clinical
- -- More Expensive
Pros
- -- Established school
- -- Good match rates
Cons
- -- Located on the opposite side of the country
- -- All of the horror stories that float around on SDN and Reddit
