I need help picking which school would be a better fit for me. I enjoyed both interviews and believe either school would be good for my medical education. However, there may be some big differences between the schools that I may not be aware of and that is why I would like input from the SDN community. Im interested in non-primary care specialties and also psychiatry (I was a psych major in college).

RVUCOM-CO

pros: great city, great match list, high board scores,
cons: expensive af, far from home (10 hour drive)

ARCOM

pros: Great campus, state of the art technologies, short distances from my home (4 hour drive). Cheap tuition & living compared to other DO schools
cons: new school, no board score info, no match list info (I've been told that school will not matter much when it comes to finding a competitive residency because mainly usmle/comlex and other personal criteria matter most. Not sure of the validity of this).

I am no expert, but I would lean more towards RVUCOM-CO because it is a more established school with known high board scores and a great match list

ARCOM has a lot of positives for you, but also a lot of unknown surrounding future board scores and match lists because it is a new school. Of course board scores matter most, but when programs/program directors don't recognize the school, it could be harder for to get residencies that are not close to the school or in the state (hopefully that makes sense, where within the state or close to the school would be well aware of the school and its reputation/students performance generally). Also psychiatrist is becoming quite a competitive speciality, so not having graduated a class from ARCOM will come with unknowns of how their students perform on boards, where they match, etc.
