SAM pay question

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm doing SAM this summer for two weeks, and I was wondering if we still get paid for 45 days ADT, even though the program is only two weeks?

Well COT was only 30 days (31?) and we got the full 45 for it, so it's probably not any different. I think we get our stipend substituted with 45 days ADT pay every summer regardless of what we're doing; it's a requirement for being in the Reserve. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong though.

not exactly sure what SAM is, but even if you do nothing you still get 45 days active pay for school orders. Just remember to hand in your paperwork and make your orders for 45 days if this policy is the same for SAM.

they shortened it to only 2 weeks?? wow.

yup, they sure did. It's good that we get paid 45 days, b/c that will be the only way I can survive through the summer financially

SAM is great. It's the anti-COT. Your days end at 14:30. You have no homework, no assignments, no tests, and no uniform inspections. We never came to attention whenever colonels walked in the room. The weekend is free. Attending SeaWorld is free with your military ID. And you get full 45 days of pay. To top it all off, you'll be reimbursed for travel and lodging. I walked away with thousands of dollars last year.

Now the bad: my class didn't get to fly. The lectures are kind of lame. The tours of museums are a drag. On a whole, you waste two weeks of your precious summer to wear a uniform.
