I work as a certified tech in Irvine in Southern California. We were recently bought out, along with all of Albertsons, by CVS, as most of you probably know. The official switch over date is June 1st, and I'm just wondering if there are any fellow Sav-onites out there scared of the switch over. I was reading over the procedure that we have to follow on June 1st and later, and it seems like it'll get kind of hectic. Things like zeroing out all inventory and starting from scratch and calling all patients for out-of-date prescriptions all this week.

We've had surveyors and other people in our store for the past few weeks setting up our store for the CVS computer system and also to give us an In window. Right now we only have one window and one register, so it'll be nice to have another window to even things out. It's been crazy with all these people in the pharmacy at once though.

Also, does anyone know the payscale for CVS pharmacy technicians? I want to know if I'm going to get screwed out of my 3 dollar raise I had coming this summer. 🙂

what sav-on do you work at?

I work at in costa mesa as a clerk and i'm excited about the switch. It's about time we update to a new computer software. I work at a fairly new store so the volume is low and the equipement is the top fo the line. it's kind of funny since they built this store a couple of months ago and now they have to replace the sign in front of the store to CVS.

I'm in the opposite position as you. The store I work at is actually a Sav-on express, which just means it's like half the size of the new huge Sav-ons. When my store was originally built in 1990, it was actually a CVS, so we still have CVS coloring! Kind of funny I thought. We also have a bunch of ancient computers and only ONE good new computer; if I visited your store I'd probably wind up hating you I'm sure because of your new equipment. 🙂

I work at store 9561 at Harvard and Main St.

Working at store 9777 in Placentia. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how they're going to execute the switch over. Dunno if it's too late now, but hope ya'll cashed out on your personal days and sick days, cause we're losing them June 1st. Won't be able to use our employee discount either, so if there's any Equaline product you want to stock up on, now's the time. =P

We lose our sick days too? Damn. I took my 12 hours of personal days last week. Guess it's too late now. I've never used a sick day.

Yeah, you lose them all. Actually, I think they only allow you to get 3 sick days without having to have a doctor's note. So I still have something like 6 hours of sick day that they won't let me take (without having proof) cause I maxed out. It also depends on your pharmacy manager too. I heard some of the other store's manager refuse to sign the form saying that you were "sick".
