I'm taking summer classes so I didn't want to schedule too early and risk not doing well. I started working with CDP after class every day for about 2 hours a day. I figure by the time July rolls around I'll hopefully be proficient enough to move onto Gen. Chem and math.

I'm so excited because it felt so official when I clicked submit. It took me 10 minutes to make my mind up on the specific date and time. I chose 1:30 instead of 8am, so I can take my time and relax before the exam.

Wish me luck!😀

I did the same thing with the time, I'm a morning person, but decided if I don't get a good night sleep, a morning nap would be a good idea! Took me forever to pick the perfect date and time, only to eventually push it back, at that point I didn't care as much, obviously harboring some test anxiety and bitterness haha Good Luck!!!

Haha I just clicked the submit button too..on registration anyway. Next Tuesday I will be able to pick my exact date and I am debating between July 30 or like mid-August. I am taking one summer class as well; it's kind of frightening thinking that it could interfere with studying for the DAT....Good luck!

How far in advance do you have to sign up? I haven't set my date yet but I started studying a week ago. I was planning on it being mid-late June though.

ADA recommends signing up for your date 60 to 90 days in advance to make sure you get the right date and time that you want. I'm sure it depends on a large amount of factors though.

If I don't have a specific date planned and just wanted to take it any time over a two week span, could I probably get a time in 5 weeks or so?

I guess I'll check it out tomorrow. I didn't know know it had to be that far in advance. :scared:

I'm willing to guess that if you waited until 5 weeks ahead there would still be spots open. What I am going to do though is pick a date just to be safe, and then when it comes down to 3-4 weeks before if I don't feel like I will be ready in time I can just reschedule to a few days ahead. I think a lot of people do this.

You can pay for the exam and get an 'eligibility notice' via email. Once you have that you can sign on to the prometric website and see what dates are available. You don't have to commit to a date but you can see how many dates and times are filling up. I would try and narrow down when you want to take it in case you prefer an afternoon rather than 8AM.
