Hey guys, I have a question regarding financial aid: this is for AUC, ROSS & ST. GEORGE?S students

When u guys receive Federal financial aid from US govt. when u fill out FAFSA, do u
receive scholarships in addition to the loans? For example, most students who receive financial aid during their undergraduate years in the US receive some kind of scholarships in addition to the loans ( I know I did)?.so do u receive some kind of scholarships in addition to the loans for students attending AUC, Ross, and St. Georges.
If so about what amount on average do u receive as scholarships?......Can you please let me know?
Thanks everyone in advance .

Speaking as a MS-I at SGU, there are no "scholarships" from the U.S. government. They have two loan programs that you can qualify for -- the subsidized Stafford and the unsubsidized Stafford loans. For the subsidized the U.S. government will pay the interest on the loan while you are in school. (A quasi-scholarship, I guess). But you still have to pay back the principal loan amount when you get out of school. The same is true for the unsubsized stafford, only you pay for the interest. However, with both these programs the U.S. govt controls the interest rate, and it is generally lower than what is available with a private/supplemental loan. The limit on the subsidized Stafford is $8,500/year and $10,000/year for the unsubsidized. The rest of the tuition/fees is covered by personal resources, an alternate (private) loan through a bank, etc. or SGU does have some internal scholarships available. The scholarships are merit-based only, no need-based - so most likely you will have to cover the additional with loans.

There are no need-based scholarships at Ross. As far as other institutional scholarships are concerned, I don't know. At Ross you have the Stafford Unsubsidized and Subsidized loan programs and private loan programs ("Alternative" loans, similar to Medloans for U.S. med students).
