Hi,could anybody explain me what does this message mean (it's from university):
While the admission and selection process at Boston University is completely independent of the financial and scholarship processes, the University is unable to offer need-based or merit-based assistance to international transfer students.
All eligible non-citizens (Refugees, Asylees, Parolees, and other special circumstances) must provide written documentation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that they hold a citizenship status approved for the receipt of federal financial aid. This documentation will then be matched with DHS records.
Boston University does require international students who are offered admission to present evidence of sufficient funds to cover all tuition, fees, books, and living expenses each academic year. Though financial forms are not required as part of the academic review process, we encourage you to submit these forms at the point of application so that we may provide the appropriate immigration documentation to you. Please visit (http://www.bu.edu/admissions/apply/forms/) for additional information.
For general information about financial assistance, please request the booklet Financial Planning for Study in the United States from the U.S. Information Agency or a bi-national advising center in your home country.
Also, the following is a list of independent scholarship organizations and search engines that offer aid to international undergraduate and graduate students:
