Does anyone know if scholarships are possible if you earn really good
Grades after the first year of dschool? I really want to attend nyu but
I'm hesitating because of the high tuition.

I dont know about every dental school but I remember hearing at at least 2 schools that some of the scholarships are re-evaluated every year and you can earn one if you havent been initially accepted for it. This simply guards against students receiving the scholarship and then taking it easy while others are working like crazy and getting better grades. Just call NYU and ask about their scholarships and how often they are evaluated.

Yep. I know the ADA has one. U have to be nominated by the Dean of the school for it though, so u know u have to be at the top of the class.

Some schools give nominal scholarships to incoming students with excellent credentials. Most of the fin aid for students comes from outside the schools though. You can find a bunch of scholarships from private donors and societies that you might qualify for. Also, i know minorities get assistance from the gov. You can also sign up for the military or to serve in an underserved area after you graduate. I wouldnt count on getting much aid if your not going into the military though, it really all goes to undergrad and phd students.

For that matter... are there any scholarships to apply for going in?? Like scholorships that are universal for any dental school..

Note i'm a white male so I'm assuming not?
