I'm just curious as to some of the stats of those getting full or partial scholarships to medical school. If anyone wants to post, what was your GPA/MCAT, type of ECs, etc? Also, state school or private?

10,000 a year at my state school (top 5 primary care, top 25 research) for four years. I'll pm you my application stats.

up to 50,000/yr for 4-6 years at any accredited school that will accept me... like winning the lottery but better 😀

Full to Cleveland Clinic (CCLCM), $80,000 to UChicago, Full to UMich, waiting on WashU. All the info should be in my mdapplicants profile.

That Jack Kent Cooke scholarship was WAY too much work. I was too lazy to apply. But I did get a half tuition scholarship (~$10,000) to my state school.

Full to Vandy, $80/year to UChicago, and unknown from WUSTL (hopefully full!) Stats are in my mdapplicants (see signature).

I got a good scholarship to one of my state schools... I'm also pretty sure I will NOT get a scholarship to WashU after looking at the mdapps that got in there and are applying 🙂 But yeah, anyone know when the finalists will be notified? Also, did any of you ASK about scholarships at the places you got them, or apply explicitly? Or were they just awarded spontaneously? At my state school it was the latter, but they mentioned the possibility at the interview.

So far, I've got a $120,000 to Iowa and a Merit and Community Service Scholarship to UCSD (but that one is only $7000/yr). I'm really hoping to get something (I mean, I'll take anything) from UWashington, but I'm not holding my breath!

Other than the Jack Cooke, are there really any scholarship sources out there, other than from the school itself? I've really been at a loss trying to find any...

For my school, they sent out a packet to accepted students with financial aid info, health forms, and low and behold info on applying for scholarships! I have no idea how many there are, what amounts, and when I'll find out, but why anyone wouldn't at least apply is beyond me.
