Hi, I recently got my MCAT score back. I’ve submitted secondaries to the schools on my list. I was wondering if there are more schools I should add (including DO schools). Thanks so much!!!

Stats: 3.37sGPA | 3.43cGPA | 516 (126/130/128/132)
Yes, I know the GPAs are rough :( Long story short, there were some hardships, and I was able to address them in 2019. Since then I’ve maintained a 3.7+ in 48 credits of upper level science classes. I speak to my experiences in my disadvantaged essay and secondaries. I also have a science LOR writer who explained how I’ve improved academically.

Demographics:
Current NY Resident, born/raised in Boston and worked in Boston after undergrad
URM (AA Female), FAP, Disadvantaged/Low-Income
T10 Undergrad

Experience:
  • Clinical: 900 hr (mostly volunteer, 150 hr as a sports med assistant)
    • My gap year job is clinical (promoted from my volunteer position), and I will amass an additional 1500 hours
  • Research: ~1500 (clinical psychology and chemical biology, public health)
    • Complete: Co-authored a white paper for Chief Medical Officer of the state; 1 second author publication
    • In-Progress: 1 third author manuscript under review; I’m preparing a first author manuscript for submission (can submit updates)
  • Shadowing: 40 (pediatrics - outpatient, ICU, ED, pulmonary, neurology)
    • I’m continuing to shadow since this is sparse
  • Nonclinical: ~1000 hr (peer support, mental health/disability access & advocacy, health literacy campaign)
  • Nonclinical Work: Tutoring/teaching (~3000), program assistant for mobile health clinic (~2100)
  • Other:
    • Significant SNMA involvement (leadership program)
    • Teaching fellowship in undergrad
    • EC leadership involvement as an undergrad and during post-bacc (I did some niche extracurricular stuff, so I’m trying to keep it vague - nothing groundbreaking though)
    • Essays/LORS: Writing is my strong suit, and all my LOR writers know me well, so I’m hoping they’re good.
School List: I don’t know a lot about DO schools, and would be open to them!
  • Reaches: Duke (strong ties), Harvard (strong ties), Yale (let me live), Weill Cornell (let me live)
  • Schools in NY: Albany, Einstein, Hofstra, Mt. Sinai, NYMC, NYU Long Island, Rochester, SUNY Upstate, SUNY Downstate, Stony Brook
  • HBCUs: Meharry, Morehouse, UCLA/Drew, Howard
  • OOS Private: Georgetown, GW, Tufts, Wake Forest, Quinnipiac, Boston University (strong ties)
  • OOS Public: UMass

Add SUNY Buffalo, IU, U Miami, U VA, WashU, NYU, Columbia, UCSF, Jefferson
Thank you so much!! Wow, I didn't think I would be competitive for WashU or UCSF, but I'm happy to shoot my shot!

Just wanted to pop back on here and say thank you @Faha and @Goro. Your suggestions were fantastic. I received 10+ II (including several from your list) and multiple acceptances.

To anyone with a similar app, feel free to DM :)
