Taking off University of Arkansas. They don't allow OOS to interview until January.

I would consider adding Wright State. The average MCAT is 31 so it might be a good safety school.
I did my undergrad and masters there and I have spent a lot of time in the medical school.
It is a nice school and it is in very good suburban location. Rotations are done at several major hospitals in the area including Miami Valley(one of the largest trauma centers in the state). I admit it wouldn't be my first choice but it is definitely worth checking out.

Thanks! I don't know how Wright slipped under my radar, I was looking into all schools within my range that were in nearby states. I will definitely consider adding it.

Wright State and Michigan State are both heavily in-state biased.

I am not very good at determining, with my stats, which schools are considered reaches and safeties. Does my list contain enough safeties?

i would probably remove u of miss columbia very in state school. if u want a safe school something like western michigan is good.

With no available data on matriculants and a class size of 50, I would say that we know too little yet to classify this as a "safe" school.

you bring up a good point but with their minimum mcat and gpa as low as they are its definetly worth consideration at the least

New schools can be a good choice for some applicants. The "minimums" give us little indication of the ultimate stats of this very small first class, though.

I would remove some of those OOS public schools and replace them with some privates that have a more favorable OOS rate. Also, Illinois has a very high OOS cost.

Some OOS schools that you might want to look at (in addition to some that you already have): Wake Forest, Georgetown, George Washington, Boston, Einstein, Jefferson, and St. Louis. However, some of these schools have have high amounts of applicants so your app would really need something to make it stick out, which i don't know if you have. Nonetheless, you fall within their stats range and they have favorable OOS percentages.

Thank you so much! I originally had Wake Forest and Georgetown but thought that I didn't really have a chance so I removed them. The high number of apps is what caused me to shy away from Boston.
