I graduated from one of the top 3 liberal arts colleges last year with degrees in Biochemistry and English.

cGPA 3.7, sGPA 3.5

MCAT 515 (127/130/128/130)

I’m pretty confident about my LORs - one of the perks about going to a small liberal arts school, plus I’ll have one from a doctor I’ve been scribing for since November.

3 summer research positions, 2 at my undergrad and one at MIT totaling ~720 hours.
Over 400 hours clinical shadowing at a family practice, plus over 2000 hours scribing in Orthopedics by the time I (hopefully) matriculate.
300 hours over several years doing straight volunteer/public health projects, and ~950 more doing work I got paid for but I chose over other positions because they were more altruistically-minded.
Also spent ~900 hours doing student theater in college with multiple leadership positions.

PA state residency if that helps and attended undergrad in MA

I’m worried about my sGPA, and the fact that I don’t have any “clinical volunteering” per say even though I have a lot of hours in a clinical settting. Do I need to start seriously considering DO?

Currently my dream school is Tulane, with BU and the Philly schools rounding out my top bracket.

Thank you! Unfortunately I’m not eligible for Pitt and a few more of these because I didn’t take statistics, but I’ll investigate these in MSAR!

I never took stats and I just got accepted to Pitt this cycle. Stats isn't a requirement for Pitt. Just a suggested coursework.

I stand corrected, just looked and saw it's required for the first time for the 2019 cycle. I apologize, sometimes I forget that schools evolve every year. Biostats is an easy pick up if Pitt is worth it to you. I loved it there and it was my 2nd choice. Food for thought.

Thank you! Do you think they’ll hold it against me since I’d be taking it at an institution other than my undergrad? And would it still count toward my required course work, if I’m taking it so late?

I am definitely not an adcom so this is speculation but if it were me and an applicant took a whole class to be competitive for my school it would show dedication and a desire to attend. Again, Thats from the outside looking in
