Unfortunately with that MCAT score set I don't think you're going to have much luck unless the Smp was hosted at a medical school. If not, suggest retaking the MCAT and aiming for 500

On second thought, you definitely have shown that you could handle the rigors of medical school. But given that medical schools have hard and MCAT cutoffs. Target those that have MCAT cut offs below 500

So OP: you don't give any information that tells us about your true passion for medicine. I can only guess by saying your are an ESL student that you had moved to the US recently but I don't know how recently. I don't know if you took the MCAT after your SMP, if you have completed it. I don't know what support you have from your SMP faculty. They're are no details about your activities.

I don't like playing psychic and making assumptions. Clearly your MCAT is subpar. But there no reason for me to interview you. I don't see why you want to make a difference as a doctor. Or if you can.

Yes the SMP was completed at an MD school

So I was born in the US but didn't learn English until I was five. I also didn't include details about my passion for medicine and my activities because I wasn't sure how specific to make this post. But I did including my passion for learning new languages to eliminate language barriers and serving for the underserved (since I come from a low SES background) in my personal statement. Work activities: leadership roles at a restaurant, salon, and scribe. Non-work: leadership roles in DO club, MCAT club, volunteering club, peer mentor. Member of environmental club, car club, soccer club.

You should be able to receive interviews at some DO schools with a MCAT of 498. I suggest these schools with your stats:
LECOM (all schools)
BCOM (both schools)
OCOM
VCOM (all 4 schools)
PCOM Georgia and South Georgia
WCU-COM
ACOM
NYIT-AR
ARCOM
UIWSOM
LMU-DCOM (all schools)
BUCOM
LUCOM
WVSOM
UP-KYCOM
DUQCOM
MU-COM
KHSC-COM
ICOM
RVU-Montana
Touro-Montana
Meritus (new school)
Many of these schools have MCAT medians in the 498 to 502 range so you should receive some interviews. Submit your application this month and all your secondaries by November.

You've had no luck with them???
I got my scores back last week. But with a 498 I was self conscious about applying to any MD schools unless you think it's worth it since I do have FAP

Talk to your SMP program director about your chances at the host MD school. Target that one only

Was your SMP faculty read your PS before submitting your application or writing your supportive letter of evaluation? The only MCAT they had was your first attempt, since you just received your second set of scores, right?

I agree to chat with your SMP director/faculty advisor this week now that you have your scores to gauge your next steps, especially with the home school. I suspect there is an articulation agreement that your 498 does not qualify you for, but verify this. Start sending out more AACOMAS applications before the end of this month.

If you fit Florida State's mission, you could attempt them as well. But check their cut-offs.
I believe I fit FSU's mission and I do have the minimum MCAT and GPA that they are looking for!

Just FYI even if they don't admit you, you have a very good shot at their MS Bridge program. They strongly invest in underrepresented students, it essentially becomes a 5 year MD if you perform in the bridge program, you're extremely likely to be admitted. Check out their site, they have an entire page devoted to it.

Thanks for the info! The only thing I'm hesitant about is the fact that I already did an SMP and so completing 2 Masters program seems a little too much for me.

Oh valid, I didn't recheck your list before I said that just saw the bit about FSU.

Thanks again for your list! I was able to get interviews from most of the places you recommended
