Hi all!

I'm having a hard time finalizing my school list, especially with DO's.

I've posted my stats before, so I'm just going to paste them below:
Stats:
  • cGPA: 3.43
  • AMCAS sGPA: 3.16 (math is a HUGE killer here)
  • AACOMAS sGPA: 3.31
  • MCAT: 507 (125/127/127/128)
  • Have an upward trend in grades (last 3 semesters were all A's, except for 3 A-'s)
  • ORM, white female, but first generation
  • Non-clinical volunteering hours: ~100-120 hours
  • Clinical volunteering: ~64 (projected 104 over the course of the next year)
    • Didn't do much during my undergrad, unfortunately. I did 16 hours at a local hospital, that I would have kept doing, but it got cut short due to me getting a full time job. Since then, I do 2 hours a week at a local free health clinic working with underserved, diverse populations.
  • Currently in the first of two gap years working as a CRA in clinical research, so will have ~2,000 hours at time of application with a projected 2,000 more. I will be promoted to a CRC in the coming months. Currently have a poster presentation and will hopefully be published as a middle author twice this summer. Lots of clinical/patient exposure working with an elderly, sick cohort. Actually really like the work that I'm doing (if anyone was wondering lol).
  • LORs: Have 3 very solid LORs - 1 science professor, 1 non-science professor, 1 my PI (who is a MD). I am also working on getting the DO I am shadowing to write me one as well, which would then put up to 4.
  • Shadowing: 40 hours shadowing a general pediatrician (who is a DO), 8 hours shadowing neurologist (both on ICU rounds and in outpatient clinic), at 3 hours shadowing neurocritical care doc who is the DO I am hoping to get a letter from
  • Residence: Connecticut
Currently my list is at:

MD (already submitted - let me know if I should add any more)
- UConn
- UMass
- Vermont
- Quinnipiac

DO
- UNECOM
- DMU
- PCOM
- NYITCOM
- Nova
- Rowan
- KCU

I would like to add AZCOM and VCOM, but they require 8 credits of Orgo and I only have 7 (Orgo sequence was 6 credits and Orgo lab was 1 credit), so I'm thinking I might not qualify even though I took the sequence? If I'm wrong let me know, but I'm not trying to waste any money here.

All thoughts are appreciated!

You can call and ask - some schools are more flexible than others
