Hi all,
I heard through the grapevine that each med school's performance on step I was ranked by the AAMC, and that it was public information. If this is true, perhaps someone could give me the link. I would like to lay this rumor to rest. Thanks

I'm sure that the AAMC has all of this data, but it's not on any public website. The USMLE people do not like their scores to be used as anything other then a pass/fail licensing function, even though residency programs have adopted the score as some sort of an MCAT. Schools are provided with every students score and their average, but many choose not to even release averages to even their own students.

Your home institiution does not necessarily know your Step I score, unless you release it to them. Our school pays for half of our Step I exam only if we agree to release the score to them. We can choose to not have the score released to them but then they don't pay for the test.
