Do DO schools know how many and to which other schools you've applied to once you submit your accomas?

Just wondering if they may weigh their importance to you more if there are fewer vs more schools and vice versa

If my Admissions dean knows, he certainly doesn't tell the members of the AdCom!

My files do NOT show where else you're applying to. It can be fair game for me to ask, though!

I wouldn't be surprised is AACOM gave that information to schools. I would be surprised if adcoms used that info or took it into consideration when determining whether to grant an interview or not.

What would having a long list mean? You want to be a DO? They kind of already know that.
What would a short list mean? You have strong stats or just can't afford to apply to a lot of places? They would know that anyways as well. I don't see how it would be particularly meaningful.

UNECOM is an exception here. They explicitly ask you to list all the medical schools you applied to (DO, MD, and international) in their secondary.

OSU-COM does this, too.

I doubt the schools know how many you applied to, but as Goro said, it is not unreasonable for them to ask you during your interview. A somewhat related question that I was asked at most of my interviews was "are you applying to MD schools as well?"
