Hey everyone,
I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread to discuss which schools of public health are best for specific areas of public health professions and/or research (i.e. epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion/health education, social/behavioral science, environmental health, health management and policcy). I see a lot of focus given to rating whole schools of public health, but I doubt that one school is good at doing everything--no matter how big the name of the school is. I'll start!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

* International Health -- any of the big names (Columbia, Johns Hopkins, * UNC, Emory)
* Epidemiology -- University of North Carolina
* Social marketing -- University of South Florida
* Environmental Oncology -- University of Pittsburgh

Cardiovascular/Cancer/Foodborne Disease Epi: Minnesota (Mike Osterholm, anyone?), all the big names
Infectious Disease Epi: Johns Hopkins, Emory, Harvard, UCLA (?)
Global/International Health: Johns Hopkins, Emory, Tulane

I think it's all subjective, however.

I agree, but it's a good start for people who are trying to decide what schools to look into.
