Hello, so i recently just took my DAT and realized the cost to apply to schools is really expensive and gathers up, i created a list.

I am based out of INDIANA and i wanted to know what are the best out of state schools to apply to? As there is only one INSTATE school here.
I saw many threads about this and created a list based on my own stats, i listed the stats below also.

cGPA: 3.77
sGPA: 3.69
AA: 23
Science: 23
Bio: 21
GC: 29
OC: 23
PAT: 18 ( Can this affect admissions heavily?)
RC:20
QR: 20

Yes, i am late applying for this cycle. But i had circumstances where i had no other choice (Dont want to go into explaining). Let me know what you guys think about the list and whether i should add schools or which ones i should take out. Obviously i am trying to cut this list short, just need some advice as i don't know much about OOS schools but tired my best to come up with a list according to the ADEA official Guide.

  • Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (AZ)
  • Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BU)
  • Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine (CASE)
  • Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (CUL)
  • Creighton University School of Dentistry (CRE)
  • Indiana University School of Dentistry (IND)
  • Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Dental Medicine (LECOM-FL)
  • Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLU)
  • Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Arizona (MWU)
  • Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Illinois (MWU-IL)
  • New York University College of Dentistry (NYU)
  • Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine (USN)
  • The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry, Temple University (TEMP)
  • Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College (TCDM)
  • Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUF)
  • University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry (ALA)
  • University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry (UDM)
  • University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UK)
  • University of Louisville School of Dentistry (UL)
  • University of Maryland School of Dentistry (MYD)
  • University of Michigan School of Dentistry (MICH)
  • University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine (UNLV)
  • University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry (UTHSC)

Also another question i had is, if i submit the aadsas application before a Schools deadline, would i have to get Official Transcripts and LOR before that due date also??? Or will the school wait for the LOR and Transcripts.

Your scores are great along with your GPA. 18 PAT won't hurt you at all. Time is your enemy now. You need to apply ASAP. Private schools will be OOS friendly. Good luck!

Thanks, i am trying my best. Yeah PAT sucked, i could never get over an 18 no matter how much i practiced.

Im still looking for recommendations on which schools to add to the list or which ones to take out!

Thanks.

OOS Friendly Schools List from ADEA Guide

great thread for OOS friendly schools. i think at this point it's too late to apply though and would save your money for next cycle. have everything ready the first week of june. your stats are great btw so i'd apply to around 10 school if you do wait until next cycle, you shouldn't need anymore than that

as for your list i would cut Roseman and UT Meharry unless you're URM. also, unless you have 500+ volunteer hours i would cut ASDOH and i don't think alabama is really OOS friendly unless you're from a surrounding state so i would cut them too

Yes thanks for the advice. I will revise.

i believe you have to have your application complete by those deadlines (i.e. everything must be in aadsas and verified). whenever you submit your application it can take up to 6 weeks to get everything submitted (not including delays for transcripts, LORs, etc.) and the later you submit the longer it takes from my experience
