I don't know this from personal experience, but in some of the school-specific discussion threads there are people that say they've received interview invites on their status pages without receiving any emails.

Being the compulsive, neurotic premeds most of us are, it might make it easier to know which schools' status sites should be checked more often than others.

So...if you know of schools that have given interview invites without immediate email/snail mail accompaniment, please mention it in this thread.

I don't know of any schools that do this intentionally. Usually there's some sort of error and the e-mail was never sent or the e-mail was delivered to the applicant's spam/trash folder, which is never checked. The latter happens quite a bit.

I didn't have any "sneaky" ones that never sent anything.

But Illinois sent some invites by snail mail, so the option to choose your interview dates was up on the site for days before you ever received the invite. And if the post office messed up, then you might never know.

I got a sneaky acceptance... very anti-climactic. 🙁
